Chapter Four

Linc woke to the sound of the ocean hitting the shore. He stretched, and as memories of last night flooded his sleep-deprived brain, he rolled, reaching for Lauren. When he found the other side of the bed cold, he jackknifed up.

Where the hell was she? Or more importantly, why did he feel such a deep pang of loss at her absence? Shit. Shit. Shit.

He kicked the blankets off and threw his legs over the side of the mattress. He was well known as a one-night stand kind of guy who always left before morning. So why, then, did the thought of her dashing away before he woke bother him so fucking much?

His feet met with a warm floor and he rooted through the pile of clothes until he found his jeans. He tugged them on and finger combed his hair as he left his room, hoping to find Lauren on the deck or even sun bathing on the beach. As he made his way down the hall, he heard noises coming from the kitchen, and a sharp sense of relief washed over him.

She is still here.

He turned the corner, and when he found her standing over the stove, dressed in one of his collared shirts as she flipped pancakes, air left his lungs in a whoosh.

Holy shit.

Feeling like he’d been sucker-punched, he leaned against the doorjamb, the sexy sight nearly driving him to his knees. But it was more than just sex with her. He liked this girl. Really liked her. Had for a very long time now, actually. No way was he ever going to get his fill of her. She hummed and swayed her hips, completely oblivious to her sensuality. He took in the lush curve of her ass, and the long, sexy legs she’d wrapped around his waist so sweetly. Christ, what he’d do to have them there again. Last night he’d taken her three times, but it still wasn’t enough for him.

He moaned. She turned.

“Morning,” she said, smiling. Fuck, she looked so sexy and sated—a well-fucked woman. He was the first guy to put that look on her face. Him. Life surged into his cock, an almost desperate need to fuck her again.

“Are you okay?” She angled her head, her long hair falling over her shoulder as she eyed him. He wanted to fist that hair, curl it around his hand and tug until her mouth was open to his.

“Yeah,” he lied.

What the fuck is this girl doing to me?

She tugged on the collar of his shirt. “I forgot pajamas. I found this in your closet. I hope you don’t mind.”

Mind? Hell no, he didn’t mind. If he had his way, he’d rip every pair of pajamas she owned to shreds, just to see her in his clothes. Jesus, she was perfect, and he wanted more, wanted her to surrender to him completely so he could give her everything she’d ever wanted…ever needed.

She pointed to the coffee pot. “Grab yourself a cup.” Forcing his legs to work, he walked past her, reached into the cupboard, and pulled out a mug.
